A Beautiful Gift From Japan

Today, I had the happiest monent in last a few weeks. One of my Japanese customers @Maedaya who traveled to Melbourne to watch St Kilda vc Geelong match over the weekend came back to Maedaya for the first time since his last visit in September last year.

Once he sit down at the bar counter, he smiled and started talking to me about how he had being caught up at the custome when he entered into Australia this time. Then he showed me a huge beutiful box of KUBOTA MANJU JUNMAI DAIGINJO 1.8L and offered me to have it as a gift! He told me that he enjoyed the meal & sake last time @maedaya and he wanted to bring a good Japanese sake to me & maedaya staff to enjoy. What a nice & kind gentleman! Thank you so much, Hayakawa san! !

We opened the bottle and enjoy sipping it together. KUBOTA MANJU JUNMAI GINJO is one of the most famous smooth & dry sake from Niigata, Japan and he told me this is one of his favorite style of sake. Indeed, the fragrance is not so big considering being a Junmai Daiginjo but the smoothness & cleanness with a crisp dry finishing is the strong sales point. I can easily see why this bottle is so famous in Japan.

Thank you again Hayakawa san for a beautiful present! I would love to share this bottle with my friends & customers who just honestly loves sake.  (So if you see this blog, come to maedaya to try this beautiful sake!) Please enjoy staying in Melb and footy, Hayakawa san!

Since we had an article on the Age Epicure last tuesday, we have a lot of new customers at Maedaya. Thank you very much for coming and trying Maedaya! Hopefully, people enjoy our Izakaya style sake bar as a new Japanese experience.

And of course, Always Thank You to all our regular customers who have been supporting Madaya since our opening last April 2008. Without you, we are not where we are.

Now I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Jane Faulkner and the Age for giving us this great oppotunity. Thank you for forcusing on a new trend Sake & Japanese Tapas!

At the last, I would like to thank you to all my staff at Maedaya who shares a passion & pleasure with me to make a great Izakaya in Richmond under a name of Maedaya.

I know without everyone's support, I couldn' make even 20% of what I have done. My ability is still limited  and I am not a perfect man at all but I promise I will try to make 120% of myself all the time to simply make everyone happy.

Thank you so much for caring and looking after me.
